Sleeping Beauty

Claire napped away the afternoon today and I grabbed some photos of our sleeping beauty.

I think the last time I took pictures of Claire napping was in the winter when I managed to capture her falling asleep in the swing.

Claire's cute toes! I have to say they are looking cleaner than usual, she's a barefoot monkey like Daddy most of the time.

The Sleep Sequence and Claire's Newest Friends

With the craziness of the holidays past, I figured it was time for some updates! I enjoyed everyone's feedback at all the gatherings the past week and I'm so happy to hear that everyone is getting as much of a kick out of this blog as I am!

Claire was great with meeting so many new friends and relatives. There were a lot of "pass the baby" games and she didn't seem to mind whose arms she was in.

I'm sure in 9 months during the "stranger danger" phase we'll be longing for the early days where a warm body (ANY warm body) served her napping needs.

Claire is still a little drool machine and really needs to wear a bib at all times. I'm enjoying the bubbles she makes, it seems she can get almost ten on her lips at once. Here's a funny photo of her slobbering over her own reflection. Girls...they just can't get enough of themselves. :-)

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Brrr! The cold weather seems to have really hit and sources tell us that our "snowstorm" Friday night into Saturday beat out the Maine crowd for first flakes! I was dying to get Claire outside in her little snowsuit and take a "Baby's First Snow" picture, but our dusting melted too quickly.

I came across this photo I took after feeding Claire on Friday. I thought there is no way I can just pick her up on the boppy so I can stand and stretch - but I did and she stayed sleeping like this for almost half an hour while I worked on the PC next to her. Notice how Jack is watching over her!

Sunny Sleeper

Claire was napping in her cradle swing this morning (hip hip hooray!) and the sun was hitting her so nicely I had to snap a photo. How pretty! Notice the "touchdown" position of her arms.

Look at me sleeping, how cute am I? The great-grandparents are coming to visit this afternoon...we'll post photos later of Nan & Pop meeting their great-grandbaby.

It's So Hard To Be A Baby

Claire was a rare cranky kid yesterday. Here's a comic in her honor.

And at the request of Aunt Laurie here's the original cranky picture. She actually wasn't cranky in the picture, just waking up and giving that funny baby "what are you lookin' at" expression.

Here's Dan with his three loves: baby, Gecko and that teal recliner.

The cats have been great with the baby. We were a little worried about Raymond (just because of his size) but they seem to ignore Claire for the most part. Gecko does like to "prarie dog" next to the swing when the baby is in it. He is so curious!
